MARC ALEXA
Marc Alexa is a Professor in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Technical University of Berlin and heads the Computer Graphics group. He received a masters and PhD degree in Computer Science from Darmstadt University of Technology under the supervision of Jose Encarnacao.
Marc’s research interests lie in the areas of creating, processing, and manufacturing shapes, as well as intuitive interfaces for these tasks. Among other significant work, he has coined the term “as-rigid-as-possible” in the broad area of shape modeling, invigorated point sets as surface representations in geometry processing, and popularized sketch-based interfaces for searching and sculpting shapes. His publications in these areas are highly cited and influential and he has shaped the careers of younger researchers in this field. These achievements have been recognized with various awards, most importantly the Eurographics Outstanding Technical Achievement Award.
Marc has also been very active in providing service for Eurographics and other organizations, going well beyond the common membership in program committees and editorial boards. He has been a member of the executive committee of Eurographics early in his career, and a papers co-chair for a variety of venues including SIGGRAPH, the Symposium on Point-based Graphics 2004, Eurographics 2005, Pacific Graphics 2007, Symposium on Geometry Processing 2009, Sympoisum on Sketch-based Interfaces 2010. Most recently he was the co-organizer of the highly successful International Geometry Summit, which for the first time brought together the three most prominent conferences in the geometry processing area.

MICHAEL WIMMER
Michael Wimmer is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Visual Computing and Human-Centered Technology at TU Vienna, where he heads the Rendering and Modeling Group. He received his MSc and PhD in Computer Science from TU Vienna (1997, 2001).
Michael’s research interests lie in real-time rendering, computer games, real-time visualization of urban environments, point-based rendering, procedural modeling and shape modeling. He has coauthored over 130 papers in these fields and has won several Best Paper awards, including at EUROGRAPHICS 2016. He has also co-authored the book “Real-Time Shadows”. Michael regularly serves on program committees of the top conferences in the field, including ACM SIGGRAPH and ACM SIGGRAPH ASIA, EUROGRAPHICS, IEEE VR, Eurographics Symposium on Rendering, ACM I3D, SGP, SMI, HGP. He has been serving as an associate editor of IEEE TVCG, Computer Graphics Forum and Computers & Graphics, and has been honored as “Associate Editor of the Year” for the latter. He has been serving as Technical Papers Co-Chair of EGSR 2008, Pacific Graphics 2012, EUROGRAPHICS 2015 and GCH 2018.
Within Eurographics, he was the main driving force in making the Virtual PC meeting system in SRM really useful, and has been helping numerous chairs actively and with a comprehensive, fool-proof to-do list.
