The exciting and vibrant field of visualization is an important research area due to the increasing popularity of data-driven decision-making and its wide range of applications. In general, our ability to collect, store, and archive data vastly exceeds our ability to derive useful knowledge and insight from it. This is a ubiquitous problem. Data visualization is key to understanding large, complex data sets and processes by exploiting the human visual system. Data visualization leverages computer graphics, AI, machine learning, and perception to provide a visual overview, explore, analyze, and present phenomena that are often difficult to understand.

The objective of EuroVis is to foster exchange between visualization researchers and practitioners and to attract researchers and industry partners from around the globe to enter this rapidly growing area of research. EuroVis has expanded its scope to encompass all areas of visualization and visual analytics.

EuroVis has been an international Eurographics visualization event held in Europe annually since 1990. It began as the Eurographics Workshop on Visualization in Scientific Computing (ViSC) and became the joint Eurographics/IEEE Visualization Symposium (VisSym) in 1999. It was renamed to EuroVis in 2005 and became a Eurographics Conference in 2012. Since 2008, its full-paper proceedings have been published as a special issue of Computer Graphics Forum (EG/Wiley CGF).

In 2027, the conference will take place for the first time in Stuttgart, Germany. Stuttgart is the capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg and a vibrant city in southern Germany, known as the birthplace of the car, in a region well known for its tradition of creative thinking and inventiveness. It is renowned for its thriving economy, cultural offerings, and as a center of education and research.

EuroVis 2027 will be hosted by the University of Stuttgart and Stuttgart Technology University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with Planetarium Stuttgart.

Stuttgart will be an especially exciting city to visit because in 2027, it will host the International Building Exhibition, timed for the 100th birthday of the Weissenhofsiedlung, which pioneered the concept of modern living and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
