Working Group on Visual Computing for Biology and Medicine

Mission statement

The aim of the EG Visual Computing in Biology and Medicine (VCBM) working group is to address the state of the art in visual computing research with a strong focus on applications in biology and medicine. It provides an interdisciplinary forum for experts (researchers and practitioners) from visualization, visual analytics, computer graphics, image processing, computer vision, human computer interfaces as well as experts from biology and medicine, jointly working on next generation visual computing solutions for medicine, healthcare and the biotechnology sector.

The main activity of the WG is to supervise the organization of the annual Eurographics Workshop on Visual Computing in Biology and Medicine (VCBM), to bring together this diverse community. The workshop was first organized in 2008, and is now hosted yearly.

All symposium proceedings are stored and accessible on the EG Digital Library.
