The nomination period for the EuroVis PhD Award is now open.

The EuroVis PhD Award recognizes outstanding dissertations in academic research and development covering topics relevant to visualization. The intent of this award is to recognize excellent young researchers in their early career and to highlight visualization research.

We call members of the visualization research community to nominate individuals for the EuroVis PhD Award by filling out the online form. The deadline for nominations is January, 31^th 2025. All dissertations by PhD researchers from the European visualization community (e.g., through contributions to the EuroVis conference) that were defended and awarded a doctoral degree between Jan 1, 2023 and Dec 31, 2024 are eligible for the 2025 competition.

Winner of the Computer Graphics Forum 2024 Cover Image Contest

This image shows the inside of the teaser figure 'fertility' from Polygon Laplacian Made Robust. It visualizes the condition numbers of individual polygon stiffness matrices. The mesh transitions from the input mesh to our result from left to right. The original mesh features disfigured polygons with alarming (yellow) or terrible (magenta) condition numbers. With our tailored smoothing algorithm, polygons become very regular and, combined with our improved polygon Laplacian, result in better condition numbers (blue) and improved robustness in computational simulation. Blender was used to stylize the geometry and render the image.
